Laurie Fielder
Laurie has a B.A. in English from the University of Vermont, and she has personal experience weatherizing homes she’s lived in, and with financing the work!
Since 2013, Laurie has directed the VGreen energy savings loan program at VSECU, a credit union committed to inspiring a movement that brings people together for greater financial, environmental and social prosperity. This unique program offers members mortgage and consumer financing options for energy efficiency and renewable energy investments. Laurie has a B.A. in English from the University of Vermont, and she has personal experience weatherizing homes she’s lived in, and with financing the work! She worked for The Journal of Light Construction, for the weatherization program at the Capstone Community Action, and for Sun Common, a successful solar company headquartered in Vermont. Her background in energy efficiency and solar informs the work she’s engaged in at VSECU as she develops relationships with industry vendors and contractors who include VGreen financing in their sales and marketing strategies. The VGreen program continues to expand and adapt to the market and the portfolio has grown from about $6 million in 2013 to $26 million in 2017. Laurie secured and administered three state grant programs, a successful vendor partnership, and led the effort to invest in a solarproject that supplies 100% renewable energy to the credit union’s operations. She serves on the board for the Renewable Energy Vermont (REV) board, as a member of the Vermont Green Home Alliance, and she participates on committees and networks with industry stakeholders to find ways to improve access to efficiency andrenewable financing across all markets.
